Oonurme Mixed Choir is the home village choir of song festival chief conductor Ants Üleoja, founded under the maestro’s initiative in 1995. Today, the choir is conducted by Elo Üleoja.
The choir’s repertoire consists of classical choral music, mainly works by Estonian composers.
In 1997, composer Veljo Tormis arranged the Tudulinna folk tune “Kuked-kanad” for the choir.
Over three decades, the choir has performed in various locations across Estonia, including on the stages of the Estonia Concert Hall, Vanemuine Theatre, Jõhvi Concert Hall, and Pärnu Concert Hall. They have participated in local and national song festivals as well as joint concerts organized by the Estonian Mixed Choirs Association. International tours have taken the choir to Gotland, Northern Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Italy.
