The Finno-Ugric mystery "Awakening of the Birds" is a journey into the traditions, rituals and spells of various Finno-Ugric peoples. Their old folk songs tell about the creation of the world, waiting for the souls of ancestors, the struggle of marriage - going through both the life cycle of a sugrian and the cycle of the year.

The collaboration between Janne Fridolini, Anne Türnpu, Eva Koldits and Vox Popul began 14 years ago, when the concert production "London in the City of Paris" was performed in Kõrveaia for the 80th anniversary of Veljo Tormis, "Ingerimaa evenings" (2012 at the Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom) and "Meditations with Storm" (2015 at Theater NO99) followed.

In 2020, they returned to Kõrveaia to meet Veljo Tormis again. In October of this year, the music of Veljo Tormis and the production of Türnpu-Koldits will reach the Japanese audience.

Vox Populi has also recorded the music of Veljo Tormis, which is heard in "Awakening of the Birds", on a vinyl record, which will be presented on October 17 at Artium in Viimsi. Anyone interested can purchase the new album on the spot.

Tickets available at Fienta and at the venue one hour before the start.
