The concert is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the re-establishment of the mixed choir Luuska Lauluühing.
The program features works by classical composers of choral music: Lembit Veevo, Veljo Tormis, Cyrillus Kreek, Mart Saar, and Patrik Sebastian Unt.
Conductor: Karita Käesel.
“You sing perfectly normally — so why do you have such a name?”
The short answer is that Luuska Lauluühing was a singing society active in the 1930s in the village of Luuska in Võrumaa, whose name and historical banner were adopted in autumn 2010 by a group of friends in Tartu when they decided to form a choir of their own. Why exactly? Come listen, watch, and experience it at the concert.
