Common denominator for the works here is the author's concern for his country and the people, the anxiety that supressed people. Though, the ending is humorous with "Men's Songs".

Vision of Estonia II on Spotify
SpotifyThe singing of this male voice choir attains the highest standards. Sibilants, consonantal gutturals and accentuated vowels are shaped with precision, coordination and a relish for meaning. Speaking of which, both the sung Estonian and the English translation are printed in the booklet side by side. (Rob Barnett, 2004-07-04)

AllMusicAlthough Tormis remains in the tonal realm, he manages to make us forget about such things; they don’t really matter here because he so effectively focuses our attention on the texts, the atmosphere, the emotions of each work–and none of these elements is ever far from the storm-tossed surface.
