Founded in 1964, the Uppsala Vokalensemble is a mixed choir of nearly 30 singers and is today considered one of Uppsala’s leading choirs, continually setting itself ever higher artistic goals. The choir’s repertoire is diverse, with a primary focus on classical a cappella choral music. They frequently perform together with other choirs and international soloists, and for many years have collaborated with young, promising conductors. Since 2022, the choir’s conductor and artistic director has been Simon Frank.
At the Arvo Pärt Centre’s afternoon concert, the choir will perform music by Swedish composers alongside works by Veljo Tormis and Arvo Pärt.
