The Tartu Academic Male Choir went on a historic concert tour in North America this year from August 16 to 29, where we met both local residents and many Estonians living abroad. Altogether, we performed music by Estonian composers at five concerts: in Silver Spring, Salisbury (Tartu’s sister city), Frederick, Toronto, and New York.
Now, we want to share all of this with our home audience and lovers of male choir music in Tartu!

The concert “To the Light” is a program that shines with hope, awareness, and compassion — as well as mutual understanding and forgiveness. 🕯️
At the heart of the repertoire are works by two of Estonia’s leading composers: Arvo Pärt, who celebrates his 90th birthday this year, and Veljo Tormis, whose 95th anniversary of birth is also being marked in 2025.

“To the Light” is the final act of a concert series that began in America and Canada — it is the sixth and only concert of the series to take place in Estonia.
