June 14, 1941, and March 25, 1949, are tragic days in the history of the Estonian people. In June 1941, the Soviet repressive authorities violently removed over 10,000 people from their homes. In March 1949, more than 22,000 were added to this number. Along with all their relatives, whose lives were also irreversibly changed, deportation affected a significant part of the Estonian population. Even today, deportations have not ceased in the world.
In memory of all those affected, on March 25, the Estonian Sinfonietta Soloists will perform works by Veljo Tormis, Ester Mägi, Gia Kancheli, Tõnu Kõrvits, Robert Jürjendal, and Pärt Uusberg.
