Today is a moment after yesterday and a blink before tomorrow. Some moments may stay with us only for a moment, others for a lifetime, deep in our hearts. Some moments in life are more beautiful than others, where a seemingly simple experience takes on immeasurable meaning, and some moments are more painful, where shared experiences unite and give us new strength to move on. Those moments that stay with us through the ages and help us to appreciate the value of the new are particularly important. This is what the journey in Kuljus is based on, for each dancer individually and for the whole ensemble collectively.
The Kuljus journey, which will soon be 75 years, will be full of moments, and the jubilee project will add more. By remembering what has been and creating what is new, Kuljus wishes to use its anniversary to highlight the moments that are important to us and also to provide an opportunity for the creation of new ones, each in its own way carrying and preserving our heritage and helping to create new patterns in the ecclesiasticism of our memories.
The first collaboration between Encore and Kuljus was two years ago, when the ensemble was invited to participate in a Tormis concert. On 16 November, the ensemble will perform together again sing Tormis! This time with a part of the "Forgotten Peoples" cycle.
