Song cycle "Estonian Calendar Songs" (1966-1967) is a grand oratorio presenting the days of the Estonian national calendar, it is considered to be a landmark in the works of Veljo Tormis. He devoted himself to the study and understanding of Estonian folk song and its transmission in art music. In this way, Tormis became a composer known all over the world.
