Film Music Gala 2026
The Golden Treasury of Estonian Film Music
The film music gala, launched in 2023 in the spirit of the Memory concert series, focuses this time on the golden treasury of Estonian film music. Although the history of film begins with silent movies, the concert does not start in silence – the sound world of films is brought to life for the occasion by Vanemuine’s chorus master and the concert’s conductor, Martin Sildos. Other major technical milestones in film history are also highlighted during the concert. Thus, the creation of the first sound film, the first color feature film, and the first film made for widescreen will all find musical expression. The concert features works by important film music composers such as Uno Naissoo, Veljo Tormis, Ülo Vinter, Sven Grünberg, Rein Rannap, Olav Ehala, Anne Maasik, and others.
