The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir invites audiences to celebrate its 45th anniversary with concerts filled with heartfelt, authentic stories that feel both ancient and contemporary. Under the direction of the choir’s founder and longtime chief conductor Tõnu Kaljuste, the program features the music of Veljo Tormis — a composer whose work has been an inseparable part of the choir’s repertoire and identity for decades.

The concerts will present two of Tormis’s timeless cycles, Women’s Songs and Men’s Songs, which speak of work and nature, human experiences and emotions — joy, anger, sorrow, worry, longing. These visually rich anniversary concerts offer a chance to experience music that resonates deeply within all of us.

Over the decades, under Tõnu Kaljuste’s leadership, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir has risen to the forefront of the world’s professional classical music scene. The choir has received numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, and has twice been ranked among the ten best choirs in the world.
