This year, the chamber choir Collegium Musicale, celebrating its 15th anniversary, is renowned and acclaimed for its distinctive sound and high-level performances.
The choir's artistic director and conductor is Endrik Üksvärav. Their repertoire spans from the Renaissance to contemporary music, with a special emphasis on early music and works by Estonian composers.
Over the years, the choir has performed at concerts and festivals in Estonia, as well as in Italy, France, Russia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Latvia, Malta, Israel, Lebanon, Greece, the Netherlands, Japan, the USA, and Canada.
In 2017, the choir won the Grand Prix at the EBU international choir competition "Let the People Sing", a recognition comparable to an Olympic gold medal in the world of sports.
The Estonian Choral Association has honored Collegium Musicale with the Choir of the Year title three times (in 2017, 2014, and 2011).
In 2018, the Estonian Cultural Endowment’s Music Endowment awarded Collegium Musicale and conductor Endrik Üksvärav the Annual Award for their outstanding promotion and dedicated, high-level presentation of Estonian choral music both at home and abroad.
